Many people choose to have chin or cheek implants to achieve a more balanced and youthful appearance. They add volume or dimension to the face and profile. Gaunt cheeks or a receding chin can make a normal nose seem large and a prominent one even larger. A strong chin adds character while full cheeks can take years away from your appearance.  Symmetry of the cheeks, chin and nose make the face more harmonious and appealing.

Chin and cheek augmentation can be accomplished either using fillers or by surgery. In some cases, facial implant surgery may require only local anesthesia combined with a sedative. However, more frequently, a general anesthesia may be preferred. The procedures generally take from 30 minutes to an hour and are often combined with other cosmetic procedures such as a facelift and/or eyelift. Following the operation, the areas worked on are bandaged or taped for a few days and bruising and swelling are quite common. Usually, you will be up and about the same day and able to return to work or your regular activities within a week or two.
